Syonynonyms

I asked a year 3 class to look-up some words in a thesaurus and write five synonyms for each. The words were: find, favourite and selfish.

One girl compiled this list of synonyms for selfish: barnacle, clam, cockle, crab, limpet.

Still, at least she progressed that far down the list; most of the class could not find find. I'm serious. I was demonstrating to one girl how to find it when a crazy-eyed boy popped-up and offered to help. Spying an opportunity to outsource, I said, "Sure".

"It's on page 92", he said, beaming.
