FAMOUS PERSON

Well, a couple of weeks ago I went with Anne and Fred to see a play at the Riverside Theatre. It was called ‘Forgotten Voices’, and was based on testimonials of the men and women of WW1. It was really good, and very well acted – it turned out that most of the cast was quite famous in Britain. I suppose they command about the same level of fame as Harold Bishop in Australia.

Anyway, (and the famous person is coming) two things tended to really spoil the play’s after glow for me. Firstly, I find out that one of the lead guys has just recently been exposed for having child porn images on his computer. The second downer came when I saw the other lead guy in the bar afterwards. This guy was wearing a suede tan leather jacket with the longest tassels you have ever seen. I mean these babies were 20-25cm long. Down the sleeves, across the back – it was like he had been dared to do it. This guy played a real rough nut character on stage, and did a really good job of it. Then what does he do afterwards? Slips on a tan jacket with tassels of course, and goes out to sip a G&T.

Jacket man was, however, talking to Alan Rickman (da-dah!) I don’t know if they were talking about the jacket or not, but they seemed to know each other. Alan Rickman, for those of you not up with B-list celebrities, was in Robin Hood, Love Actually and Harry Potter. I stood about one metre away from him just for the fun of it, until jacket man turned around quite suddenly and struck one of my corneas with a tassel. Now that didn’t happen, but it could have, they were long!

Ah how quickly they forget!

Alan Rickman should always be remembered for his masterful role in Galaxy Quest!!

Alan would glare balefully at you. He's good at that. And at acting, actually...

Don't blame me- I think he's great. I am very sad I missed the event (although I was pleased to get a couple of extra hours of sleep that night).
