Simulated battle? That's nothing compared to real battle, right Julian? Wrong. Because simulated battle doesn't kill the combatant, it gives him the opportunity to learn from his mistakes—to get better and better at fighting.
And so, like isolated animals with no natural predator, these men have evolved into excellent fighters, honing their combat skills over a long and trouble-free existence.
Still, you can't get it right all of the time. The man whose job it was to throw the spear, for instance, did it very badly, and moments later was quite rightly destroyed by a tubby man with an axe.
That there is the castle.
