Months ago, back when we were still looking for a couch, Shelley tried to draw a picture of a chair she was imagining and came up with this.
I didn't know what to do first—post the picture to Facebook or mock her for it, but in the end I managed to do both simultaneously.
Anyway, an odd postscript: the other day Shelley came to me all triumphant and showed me this picture on the laptop.
'See?' she said, 'Not far off.'
'Yes', I said. Yeeeeees.
Anyway, here is a picture of the couch we actually bought:

Shelley's #1 misstep is that you cannot draw that chair with a ballpoint pen. Well you can -- but you shouldn't have that much time on your hands.
I wish I had your actual couch, very much. Also your river view. But perhaps not your neighbours.
